Slavery and Freedom – Sermon – June 27 2010
Why did God allow slavery in the Bible times and call for slaves to obey their masters? Why did God command the masters to treat their slaves justly and fairly? What does all this have to do with us and our identity in Christ? How was Slavery very different during Bible times when compared to slavery linked before and after the Civil War? If slavery was evil, and tends toward evil, why did God tolerate it?
