Should We Still Preach Fire and Brimstone ? – Sermon – December 05 2010

After reading Matthew 3: 1-10, do you think after learning about the purpose John the Baptist served announcing Christ’s coming, do you think we still need fire and brimstone preaching like this in church?  Do we still need to hear about the wrath of God, His righteous anger, His vengeance, His destructive power? Or is this a thing of the past?  Do we simply need messages only about love, joy, peace, hope and such things?   Do we need to keep God’s wrath and vengeance clearly on the radar scope of our faith?  Why do you think preachers, rarely preach like John anymore?  Is God any different in the New Testament, from how he was in the Old Testament, aside from Jesus Christ?  Why do the Seeker Sensitive churchs of today avoid preaching about God’s wrath?

I Am Not Ashamed – Jesus, The Only Way – Sermon – October 02 2011

I Am Not Ashamed – Jesus, The Only Way – Sermon – October 02 2011

Why are there so many scripture quotes, that speak about not being ashamed of the Gospel?  (like Romans 1: 16, or 2 Timothy 1: 8)   Why is there so much pressure on us from the world, to be ashamed of the Gospel, and believing it?   Why should we speak the Gospel boldly?  Why do we Christians feel the temptation to be ashamed?   Where does this shame come from?  Why should we say Jesus is the only way to Salvation and Everlasting Life?  Why have so many Celebrities denied Christ as the only Path to Salvation such as  Oprah Winfrey when she was live on her show, and Billy Graham on the Robert Schuller show on May 31, 1997?   Why have these celebrities been ashamed to admit Christ is the only path, and that Wrath and Damnation will come to those who do not accept Jesus Christ?

Are you an iron pillar of the rock of God’s truth?   What is uncertainty?   We live in a culture (America), with many religions being practiced.  How can our culture say that all these religions are true at the same time?  Is it possible that the unbelieving world, people in this country and abroad, just don’t believe that there is but one truth, in who our God is, and how we can be saved?  Does the Politically Correct world teach that it is not nice to say that one thing is truth?  Culture of the unbelieving world, teaches that each individual has truth, as only he sees it, else, we are being arrogant, or mean.    What is the Truth?  And how can we know, that the Truth is found only in the Bible?
