After reading Matthew 3: 1-10, do you think after learning about the purpose John the Baptist served announcing Christ’s coming, do you think we still need fire and brimstone preaching like this in church? Do we still need to hear about the wrath of God, His righteous anger, His vengeance, His destructive power? Or is this a thing of the past? Do we simply need messages only about love, joy, peace, hope and such things? Do we need to keep God’s wrath and vengeance clearly on the radar scope of our faith? Why do you think preachers, rarely preach like John anymore? Is God any different in the New Testament, from how he was in the Old Testament, aside from Jesus Christ? Why do the Roman Catholic church pray to Mary, the mother of Jesus? Why is this a Sin? Does scripture tell us that Mary was sinless, or that she was a Sinner? When Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant”, why does Mary need a Savior if she is without sin? What does She/Mary need to be saved from? And now the question, how far should we go with exalting Mary? In what other ways does the Roman Catholic church err, in over exalting and praying to Mary?
