The Day of Atonement – Sermon – April 22 2012

The Day of Atonement, is also called Yom Kippur, in Hebrew, and does this event foreshadow Christ?  The whole purpose of this day in the Old Testament was to atone for the people’s sins once a year that they might be clean before the Lord.  What does it mean to “atone” for sins?  What does the word “atone” mean?  How does this event, the Day of Atonement relate to Christ?
