The Purpose of Suffering – Sermon – January 30 2011

The Purpose of Suffering – Sermon – January 30 2011

Would it help all of us, to gain a Godly perspective on suffering, to understand it, how to endure it, how not to be afraid of it, and yes even to rejoice in it?  Was the story of Job in the Old Testament a rather extreme example of Suffering for a Man, and how can we learn from what happened to Job?  What are God’s purposes for us in suffering, in the trials of a Christian?  When we get hit by despair and tribulation we often ask, Why is God letting this happen to me?  Does he still love me?  Why has he cast me off so?  Am I forgotten or abandoned by God?
