Serpents generally get a bad rap in the Bible.  They symbolize evil and sin.  So why did God choose a snake to be made of brass to be put on a pole to…save the people?  Why did God have Moses do this?  Did God give us this story to confirm us in our faith in Jesus Christ?  How does the Serpent symbolize Christ?

The Day of Atonement, is also called Yom Kippur, in Hebrew, and does this event foreshadow Christ?  The whole purpose of this day in the Old Testament was to atone for the people’s sins once a year that they might be clean before the Lord.  What does it mean to “atone” for sins?  What does the word “atone” mean?  How does this event, the Day of Atonement relate to Christ?
